Slow Running Computer

It’s depressing if you have a computer running slow that you keep pausing when you want to use it. You’ll find that your Computer can not operate as well as it used to be with a few easy steps. If you find that it takes you a long time to start up your Windows Programs and to open anything. That means you have got a slow running computer. And you need to fix it at once if you want to get a great performing computer. Here is how

# 1. Open add and remove programs in the windows control panel to get rid of the unnecessary programs. The more applications that are installed inside your computer, the slower it runs, simply because some of the applications will use system memory, even when they aren’t running. It is no surprise your computer is running slow and displaying error message telling you these is not enough memory then. So go find all the programs you no longer use and remove them all to free more memory and disk space and the computer will run much faster.

#2. Fragmented Hard disk. A fragmented disk can gradually down your PC or laptop by making it work harder to find all the files. You can also run the disk defragmenter utility in windows to rearrange fragmented files for your slow running computer and to improve computer performance. To run the disk defragmenter go to start > all programs > accessories> system tools > disk defragmenter.

#3. Malware. Spyware and malware are reasons for a slow running computer. You have to run a full system scan to make sure you are not infected. For preventive purposes, you have to make certain that you’ve the latest and updated anti-virus and anti-spyware programs operating in your computer.

#4 Windows registry errors. This is probably the most important procedure to fix a slow running computer. As a matter of fact each time you install the new programs it makes changes in the registry and eventually corruption occurs. The windows registry controls all behaviour on your computer and any errors here result in a slow running computer. To make your computer run faster, the most efficient way is to fix and repair the corrupted registry entries and fix the registry errors. The way to do this is to download a system and registry scanner and then scan your computer for errors. Doing this will speed up a slow running computer in minutes.

Understanding the Difference between Wired and Wireless Network

Wireless networking has predominantly become more popular over the past few years, with advancements in technology, wireless speeds are getting closer to matching those of wired and many homes and businesses are implementing them into their network.

Whilst wireless certainly offers flexibility and convenience there are also many others important factors to consider when using them in place of wired networks.

Speed – We are becoming far more impatient when it comes to data transfer and speed is certainly of the essence when in networking. Many wired networks are being upgraded to gigabit since a lot of hardware nowadays is gigabit ready and a lot of cabling is gigabit compliant. Wireless on the other hand is unlikely to ever match the speeds offering by wired. Wireless N boasts speeds of 300mbps. Of course in a typical environment you are only likely to get around a third of this.

Another point to consider with the speeds is the fluctuation. Transferring over a wire will normally give you a steady and consistent speed; the same cannot always be said for wireless. Interference and signal drops means that transfer speeds can jump up and down a lot with wireless.

Reliability – Moving on from the point above wireless networks are far more prone to suffering from reliability issues. Due to there being no physical medium, data has to transfer through the air and must pass through any surface in its path. This means that signals can get blocked and deflected and this means your connection can suffer or even drop.

Even large distributed wireless networks can suffer from these problems and without careful planning of where access points are located wireless can be a nightmare for connection problems. On the other hand wired networks rely on physical cabling that will stay in the same location and have a long life span. Cabling rarely ever fails in networking and this means you get the same speeds and performance day in, day out for many years.

Security – One of the biggest concerns in regards to wireless network is proper security procedures. Because data is transferred through the air it can easily be intercepted. Strong encryption (WPA/WPA2) means that data is unreadable unless you have the correct key. However, many wireless network still remain unsecure or with weak WEP encryption and are prone to security breaches.

Wired networks do not face this problem, physical access can only be obtained by somebody who has access to the infrastructure, and a wireless network on the other hand can be access from outside a building, in a car park for example!

As you can see there are many considerations to make when deciding whether to use wired or wireless networks. A mixture of both can be very effective with the right security procedures put in place. It would be quite foolish for any company to completely replace their wired network with a wireless one.

The Importance of IT Certifications

As an IT professional pursuing several IT certification programs will eventually give you an advantage over other employees. For potential employees it will give them a vast knowledge in a specific field of Information Technology and it will give them better odds at getting a job. IT certification programs will definitely improve your job opportunities as well as improve your overall working attitude.

Most employers will favor job applicants that already have IT certificates. This is because IT certifications are a global recognition for qualified IT professionals. This entails that a potential professional is capable to perform any tasks that are given to them within a certain area of expertise. Certified professionals don’t require additional training to be fully fit for the job because they have already proved that they are skilled and equipped with enough knowledge to do the job with or without supervision. Employers will choose job applicants that are fully equipped with these certifications and will be hesitant to hire those who don’t have any certifications.

Competition happens everywhere; in the class room and when trying to land a steady job. That is why it is important to stand out among the rest and having IT certifications can be the best way to do it. There are a lot of certificates to choose from and selecting the right one can be a challenging task. It requires careful evaluation because taking certification training programs and exams is not easy or cheap. One should consider the field where their skills and knowledge are best suited. IT certifications are often given by companies such as Microsoft, Adobe, Sun, and Cisco companies. These are highly regarded as IT companies and being certified from these companies gives a lot of value to any individual who aims for a bright future in the technology field.

Managing to pass any of these exams requires a lot of preparation and only those that are prepared and equipped with enough experience will be able to withstand the challenge of it. Preparations often include an independent study and enrolling in a preparatory course given by educational institutions. Note that these are sometimes a short-term course only. They are like boot camps for IT professionals.

If you wish to pass any IT certification exams, you better prepare ahead of time. If you are able to pass the challenge and get certified the doors will open quickly for many good opportunities. In the long run being certified will give you a much-needed advantage over your peers within your chosen field.

Reduce the Clutter in Your Life

These days, everyone is looking for ways to feel healthier and more fulfilled in life. Of course many people have tried several different diets or exercise plans, but people are also looking for other important ways they can change their everyday lives. One of the most recent trends has been for people to try to de-clutter their lives by getting rid of old things they no longer need or want. Many people are even taking this to an extreme by reducing the number of things they own to 100 or less! One of the things that many Americans have sitting around is often old technological equipment that they no longer need, and although so many people are looking for ways to get rid of their old computers, some ways of getting rid of them are better than others. Perhaps the best way for you to get rid of your old computer is to sell the imp tablet notebook that you no longer want.

Even though many people feel like a laptop computer may not seem like a big item that takes up a lot of space, the reality is that it is just another one of the many things that is cluttering your life. If you use your computer, that’s one thing, but many times people have old laptops sitting around that don’t get any use. That’s especially true if part of the computer breaks and people realize it isn’t worth repairing because they don’t know what to do with it. Since computers aren’t small items, they aren’t something that most people are willing to just throw out with the rest of the trash, which is a good thing since computers are very damaging to the environment when they end up in landfills. To get rid of the junk in your house that you don’t use, you should sell the imp tablet notebook that you have sitting around. If you keep allowing yourself to justify keeping every little thing in your house, you’ll never end up reducing the clutter in your home or the number of unnecessary things you own. If you sell and imp tablet notebook, on the other hand, then you’ll be on the right track to scaling down on how many things you own, and you can help motivate yourself to keep going with this challenge you’re undertaking!

The main reason you should sell the imp tablet notebook you own is because that is the easiest and most rewarding way to dispose of it. If you throw the laptop away, you’re causing a lot of unnecessary environmental damage and adding to America’s growing landfills. If you try to recycle the laptop, you will probably find it very difficult to find a company that will take it and even if you do, they will likely charge you for the expensive recycling process. If you sell an imp tablet notebook, however, then you can actually earn money from the company that you sell it to, you can keep it out of a landfill, and you won’t have to deal with the hassle of trying to figure out how to recycle it.

Solution to Disk Label Corruption in LINUX

The LINUX operating system is very much similar to UNIX and has derived many basic design principles from it. Day by day, LINUX OS has improved upon its previous versions and indeed has incorporated a number of distinguishable features over other operating systems. In LINUX, disk drives are mounted through file system volume label and not the device path. This is a newer concept applied in LINIX in order to avoid the ambiguity in distinguishing after a disk has been removed and some other have been inserted with the same device path. However, if there is corruption to the volume label, the situation becomes more complex; keeping the data from the drive completely inaccessible and a LINUX data recovery utility is a must to recover the inaccessible data.

To be a bit more elaborative, suppose, your system disk is at /dev/sda2. The system may have mapped another disk as /dev/sda2 and hence, your stab, where all entries of the mounted disks are there, will be messed up making your system start improperly. At times, such issues can cause huge loss of data.

These kinds of situation may fire the command sack automatically to check the LINUX volumes each time the system boots-up. As sack, checks for file system errors and tries to repair the same, it may take a significant amount of time. Any power surge or system crash during the process may cause serious system instability and data loss. This is an added problem that may further flash a warning message and further increase the chances that your LINUX volumes become inaccessible. The message may read as below:

“Warning: invalid flag 0×0000 of partition table 4 will be corrected by w (rite)”
